Meeting the rising interest and demand for equipment Northbay over the last year has been developing offshore ongrowing technology for clawed lobsters. The technology designed to stand-alone or alongside muscle long lines. This is a segregated system one lobster one compartment that can be stacked in lines of several hundred lobsters. One significant difference with this system is that it is designed to encourage the settlement of feed biomass promoting the growth.
The system developed by Northbay is amazingly simple and cost-effective for whole life ongrowing to market or a combination of onshore and offshore technology. The advantage of a non-feed system means that the lobsters are feeding on natural food which has significant cost savings to the grower. We also have technology that could be used to grow the lobsters on on land in preparation for the market.
